Amapiano
Amapiano is a word from the Zulu language that literally means “the pianos.” It is characterized by a mix of different music styles, including Kwaito, Gqom, Bacardi, Jazz, and Deep House. Because Amapiano music contains so many different elements, there’s a lot happening if you really listen closely—from basslines to beats, instruments, and various vocals. The beauty of it is that you can choose the “mood” yourself when listening to Amapiano; you can lounge and chill, or you can let loose and dance—it’s entirely up to you.

About me
My dance journey began the moment I could walk. I grew up surrounded by dance and music. Every morning while getting ready for school, music was always playing—in every style. From Hip Hop to R&B, from Reggae to Motown. After school, I’d put on my nicest clothes, turn on the radio, and start dancing. That habit never left me!
At the age of six, I started classical dance. Later, I spent years dancing Hip Hop, where I truly felt free and full of energy. I also took musical theatre classes, where I explored various dance styles, including jazz and modern.
